Kind Words

Working at the Beach

Kitty is compassionate, wise, thoughtful and blessed with a mischievous sense of humour. Forthright, pragmatic and brave, yet is also gentle and generous with others. Kitty's reports from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts were delivered with calm recollection and much admired for their boldness on the front line and unflinching detail of the unfolding tragedy. Kitty has always had a rare ability to convey, in words, what it is to be human.

- Sian James (Editor, Mail on Sunday)

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Kitty.  It was the first time we had ever commissioned poetry - but she made the process unbelievably easy.  She worked very well with our client, immediately understood what was required, delivered absolutely to the brief and her words brought the whole project to life.  Hopefully we will get to work with her again in the future."

- James Pinniger (Managing Director, Pinpep Media)

No deadline ever phases Kitty, who is a consummate professional and a joy to work with. Combining her natural flair with her brand of honesty, Kitty instantly connects to her readers, who see her an everywoman who can inspire, educate and entertain in equal measure.  Never grand and always receptive to new ideas, Kitty is a writer whom both editors and readers can trust.

- Fiona Hardcastle (The Daily Mail)

Kitty is comfortable with designing and planning a multi-channel communications and media strategy as well as engaging with teams at a tactical and planning level.

Her personal connection and empathy for the people she works with meant Help for Heroes was able to engage with and share the stories of our wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women, as well as their families. Combined with her experience as a journalist, with a deep understanding of the reader, Kitty undoubtedly contributed to Help for Heroes being named as a Top Ten Story-Telling Brand in 2016 (AESOP).

Committed, loyal, brilliant and fun to work with - I would highly recommend for any future contract/consultancy work.

- Alistair Lockhart (Consultant)

At Help for Heroes, Kitty was the go to person for securing impactful national media coverage and developing key stories to help inspire supporters to donate. She was also responsible for securing important media partnerships with outlets such as The Mail on Sunday & Global Radio

She led the communications team from the start of the charity, mentoring and nurturing them to deliver exceptional results time after time.

Kitty is a passionate, dedicated and experienced professional and I would have no hesitation in recommending her.

- Jess Arnold (Head of Brand, Help for Heroes)

Kitty is a talented, driven and conscientious writer. She has a natural ability to extract the most intricate detail from the people she is interviewing in order to create honest, sensitive and compelling articles. It was a credit to her talent that her book The Daffodil Girls was a bestseller as she was able to clearly represent the army wives who each had had, or were currently having, an emotional time whilst their loved ones were away at war. She is professional and dedicated. She works hard to be the very best she can be, both as an author and journalist, but also as a colleague and a manager. I cannot recommend her and her flair for writing enough.
